A Lesson in Language

In everyday life, someone who knows several languages is somehow exotic, they are seen as someone of high intelligence, and attractive just because of this knowledge.  If someone tells you that they know 6 languages, people are usually in awe, and wish that they spoke a few more languages as well.  But if all of a sudden you were to tell them that those languages were: C, C++, C#, Java, Perl, PHP, etc.  it all of a sudden loses a lot of it's "je ne sais quoi", as if it isn't nearly as impressive to know 3+ programming languages in comparison to 3+ spoken languages, but let it be said that it is no-less impressive, and if you know a lot of different programming languages, be proud of yourself, as this is a huge accomplishment, and just as hard as learning a spoken language.  You are fluent in many languages and are able to keep them separate from each other as you use them, just as someone who speaks French, English, Spanish, German, etc.  Be proud of your talent, you are just as impressive.
